How to Add a Matrix to a Confluence Page

You can add the Matrix dashboard gadget to a Confluence page.

To use Jira dashboard gadgets in Confluence, you have to register them first.

Make sure you have an application link between your Jira and Confluence system.

Step-by-step guide

To register the Matrix dashboard gadget in Confluence, do the following:

  1. Identify the Matrix gadget URL
    Do the following as administrator on your Jira system:
    1. Switch to your dashboard.
    2. Click Add gadget in the top right corner.
      The gadget browser is displayed.
    3. Search for the Matrix gadget.
    4. Select Show XML link.
      The XML link of the Matrix gadget is displayed.
    5. Note the XML link or copy it to the clipboard.
  2. Register the Matrix gadget in Confluence.
    Do the following as administrator on your Confluence system:
    1. Click the cog icon in the top menu to enter the system administration.
    2. Select General configuration from the menu.
    3. Select External Gadgets from the "Configuration" section in the sidebar on the left.
      The "External Gadgets" dialog is displayed.
    4. Past the XML link you noted before in the "Gadget Specification URL" textbox and click Add.
      The URL is added to the "Added Gadgets" list.
  3. The Matrix gadget should be available in the Confluence macro browser now.
